What is EPI?
EPI is a parameter in Adtraction's tracking links that allows you to send data into Adtraction's system. The data is then connected to the conversions that take place through this specific link. The EPI parameter tells you exactly which of your published links contributed to a given transaction.
Common use cases for working with EPI's include the following:
Follow up performance on specific links
Cashback sites being able to attribute sales to specific users
Content partners attributing sales to specific content pieces
Subnetworks being able to identify the specific partner
Adding EPI parameters manually
You can add five EPI parameters to each tracking link. This is how you add them:
https://track.adtraction.com/t/t?a=24209996&as=24577691&t=2&tk=1&epi=one&epi2=two&epi3=three&epi4=four&epi5=five
If you are using a deeplink, the URL parameter has to be placed at the end:
https://track.adtraction.com/t/t?a=243&as=110183&t=2&tk=1&epi=your-text-here&url=https://www.example.com
Should you forget to add an EPI when creating a short link it can be added later on, as shown here:

EPI can be used with Adtraction's Cleanlink technology, example:
https://www.domain.com?epi=123abc
Adding EPI parameters via Adtraction platform
You can add your EPI’s directly via the Adtraction platform upon creating your tracking links. There are some different ways of creating your links directly in the Adtraction platform.
Quick link creator
You can create your tracking links and add EPI’s to them in a couple of ways. The first one is by clicking on “Create link” in the left menu.
Paste the website link to the brand or a specific landing page on the brands website. Expand the Advanced section and you can manually add up to five EPI’s. When you’ve added the EPI’s you want to the link to have, click on Create link.
Note that you need to have an approved application to the brand to be able to create your link.
Now your tracking link is created and you can copy it by clicking on the button Copy.
Add EPI from a brand's program page
You can add EPI’s to your tracking links directly via the brands program page. Navigate to the brand you would like to create links for, and click on the Edit link button which will be found to the right of the page below your default tracking link.
You will now be able to add up to five EPIs for your customized tracking link. When you’ve added the EPI’s you want to use, copy the link that is shown or click on Copy & close.
Get EPI from the Adtraction API
EPI is available on transactions and statistics that you get from the Adtraction API. Please look at Adtraction API documentation for more information.
Using callbacks with EPI
Having configured your links with EPI, you want to make sure that you can receive the data as soon as possible. This is where our callback functionality comes in. Keep in mind that this functionality requires a certain technical understanding.
