What is a broken link?
If you get a notification about broken links that have been detected, that means our system has picked up that you are trying to send traffic to a brand, but for some reason that link is not working as it should.
Why does a link become broken?
A link can be reported as broken for several reasons, you will find all reported broken links in the Broken links report that can be found at Reports -> Broken links.
All broken links will be visible in the report and you will see for what brand and channel the broken link are reported for.
Program is closed
You are still sending traffic to a brand whose program has been closed.
Program is paused
You are still sending traffic to a brand whose program has been paused.
The channel is not approved by the brand
We have detected an ad impression, or a click on a link, which was created for a channel that is not approved by the brand.
The ad could not be found in the Adtraction system
You have tried to show an ad that was not found in Adtraction. This is probably because the ad was deleted by the advertiser.
What can I do to avoid broken links?
To avoid broken links you should keep the content of your channels updated and correct or remove links that aren’t active for any of the reasons above.
We also recommend that you use fallback links, that will allow you to automatically redirect traffic for broken links to fallback offers or any other page you want. You can read more about how fallback links work in this article.
