What is EPI and how do I use it?

In this article, we will explain what EPIs are, what they can be used for, and how you can use them with Adtraction.

Using EPI parameters, you as a partner are able to send data from your system to the Adtraction system. The data will then be connected to the conversions that were generated through this specific link, so the EPI paramater tells you exactly which of your links led to the transactions in question.

The use cases for EPI parameters are many, but some of the most common ones are:

  • Follow up performance on specific links

  • Cashback sites being able to attribute sales to specific users

  • Content partners attributing sales to specific content pieces

  • Subnetworks being able to identify the specific partner

In order to add EPIs to your tracking links, simply choose the advertiser you want to create a link for and click "Customise link":

This will take you to the following view where you can then add the EPI parameter as needed:

You can add up to a total of 5 EPI parameters when generating a tracking link. An example with 5 EPI parameters would look like this:

https://track.adtraction.com/t/t?a=24209996&as=24577691&t=2&tk=1&epi=one&epi2=two&epi3=three&epi4=four&epi5=five

If you are using a deeplink, the URL parameter has to be placed at the end:

https://track.adtraction.com/t/t?a=243&as=110183&t=2&tk=1&epi=your-text-here&url=https://www.example.com

That's it! You've now gained an idea of the possibilities with EPI parameters in the Adtraction system, and you know how to send data from your system to the Adtraction system using these.
